LUDIA'S INSPIRATION
A coffee table inspired by the Colosseum
Inspired by the majestic arches of the Colosseum, Ludia captures a timeless strength. The table legs evoke ancient stone vaults that once lifted gazes toward the heavens. Here, the material enters a quiet interplay, where shadow and light come together to strike a balance between openness and form.
A homage to the gladiatorial women
Ludia draws inspiration from more than stone. Its name pays tribute to the ludiae, the female gladiators whose stories have often been erased, their voices overshadowed by those of their male counterparts. While the grandeur of the Colosseum and its arenas is well known, few stories honor these brave women who fought to the cheers of the Roman crowds.
At Ibride, this name represents the resilient feminine spirit woven into history and resonates with our vision of design.
A DESIGN BY FREDERIK
DELBART

A dialogue between past and present
The Belgian designer Frederik Delbart, named Designer of the Year in 2018, imbued Ludia with a vision where past and present subtly converse. In his design, the form comes to life beneath the tabletop, revealing an openwork base as delicate as lace, creating a visual illusion of weightlessness.
Close collaboration with Ibride
Bringing this design to life required close collaboration with the Ibride team. Together they founded technical solutions to make Ludia a piece that is both strong and light.
